Anthony Hernandez is an artist-photographer who has published a dozen books, including Waiting, Sitting, Fishing and Some Automobiles, a compendium of his early large-format black-and-white photographs of L.A. His work was the subject of a retrospective exhibition at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in 2016 and his photographs are included in numerous museum collections in this country as well as Europe. His work was included in the 2019 Venice Biennale. He received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2018 for his project, Nevada and the West, and he is also the recipient of U.S. Artist Award and a Rome Prize.
